Our Mission & Vision

The Mold Guy was founded in 2005 as the result of a simple observation: dealing with mold contamination is overwhelming and scary. Questions like "Will mold make me sick?" and "Do I need to leave my home right now?" fly through your mind the instant you suspect a mold problem. The truth is that the stress and uncertainty that comes along with an indoor air quality contamination is as big of a problem as the contamination itself.

This led Mark Levy to create the vision for an indoor air quality company that cares about its clients' health and piece of mind as much as getting the job done right. With nearly a decade of experience, a library of industry certifications, and an extensive knowledge base anchored by a progressive view of continuing education, The Mold Guy is on a mission to help you breathe easy and be healthy.

"Mark is not only very knowledgeable, but possesses genuine concern for his clients and callers. I would not hesitate to recommend his company to any of my friends or family." - Fred C.

Certifications and Training

We take the word "Expert" seriously.

To us it's more than just a word. It's a promise that we have accepted the responsibility of guiding and directing our clients through stressful situations that could pose significant health risks for them and their families.

Knowledge is key to upholding our responsibly as experts. Each member of our team holds certifications through the ACAC (American Council for Accredited Certification) - the largest accreditation body for the indoor air quality industry.

Our certifications and continuing education cover water damage & restoration, mold, bacteria, asbestos, lead & heavy metals, VOCs, odor control, infrared inspection technology, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, and the correlation between health issues and mold exposure.

We require this rigorous training to provide our experts the most comprehensive understanding of all variables that can have an impact on indoor air quality, and ultimately the health of our clients and their families.

"There's really not much more to say except these guys really know what they're doing and make you feel like there are good people out there in this world.  Highly recommended!" - WIll S.

We've Seen it All

The Mold Guy has served the Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco areas for 10 years. That's over 3,500 mold and indoor air quality inspections at homes, workplaces, and commercial buildings. We've handled small-scale residential inspections with minimal contamination issues, to large-scale commercial inspections with major contamination issues… and everything in between! There isn't a job too big or too small for our certified team of experts.

75% of our clients are people with sensitivity or health concerns. Typically when clients call us they have been experiencing health issues for a number of months. Health problems like this are the result of sick homes. A sick home is one with ongoing environmental issues like mold or bacteria contaminations.
